Automatic route planning, that’s the way to move things around here.

You shouldn’t spend too much time on planning your routes, especially if there’s an automatic online solution.

Instead of having your drivers or your transportation planning team work hours on planning delivery routes, use an automatic route planner. This will reduce their time spent on planning routes and deliver better results since this optimization task is better left to computers. Of course you can do it, you and your team have done this for years and it is simple when there are only 10 deliveries to make. But your business has grown so much that the 50 deliveries don’t just add 5 hours to the planning task, they make this operation so much more complicated and honestly you don’t need this headache, especially since the solution is here and affordable. Routing optimization reduces operating costs and improves delivery performance and customer service.

Each of your drivers will receive his itinerary, maps and turn-by-turn driving directions and will know exactly where to go, how to get there and the time to spend in each delivery stop.
Your driver’s arrival time in each stop is predictable and so is his whole route so you can follow and manage your vehicle fleet and avoid any dead time between routes.  Everything becomes known and manageable and questions marks are left behind (or in the parking lot).

Try an automatic route planner.

Do you have Driving Directions?

Do you find yourself looking for a house that “has to be here” but find it on the other side of town?

Your delivery drivers drive in circles to find the right address and they even drive back and forth to the same area in one route, to deliver two separate parcels. That’s a shame for they are spending too much time on the roads. This shouldn’t happen, but it does. Because A. their driving directions if they have any are not accurate enough and B. it’s hard to find the best route between all the deliveries they have.

You can’t blame them – you can help them, and make sure they reduce distances covered and time spent travelling. Plan a route using a Route Planner so that each driver will benefit from a balanced delivery territory and a known daily workload. These two together will keep them happy and will in turn positively influence your customers’ satisfaction.
