Planning routes – Trip planner

How long does it take your team to plan your routes? What will happen if this be reduced by 20%?

Think of your day at work tomorrow. You will probably have 10 properties to view, if not more, and you will have to put some sense into planning your route. Otherwise you’ll waste time and money, by not visiting more properties. Maybe planning them in twos is easy and won’t take you the whole day but what happens when you’ll want to combine these couples into one single route?

Will you optimize your route? And what if one minute after you have your route ready, you’ll be getting a phone call from your boss asking to add just one more stop? How long will it take you to add just that? Tomorrow you’ll be coping with the same exact problem or even worse – with 15 new properties. What then?

Here it becomes even more visible, you will need to reduce your cost and increase your efficiency. You will need to save you time and money. You will need to optimize your route.

In this case that you have lots of places to visit that are frequently changed, you are wasting too much time on organizing your travel points and less time in the field. The ease of using a route planner that will find you the best route between those points, will make you wonder how you managed without it. You’ll probably regret not using it earlier but forget about that, just enjoy the fact that you do now.

Check how much time it reduces.

Optimized Travel – Save Time, Save Fuel, Save Money!

Everyone knows that we waste time and fuel on the road.
Everyone clearly understands that this loss is quickly translated into wasted money.
But does anyone really do something to prevent this loss? To at least minimize it?
The Texas Transportation Institute (http://tti.tamu.edu/) shares a few Highlights from their research that illustrate the effects of the nation’s traffic problems:

  • The overall cost (based on wasted fuel and lost productivity) reached $87.2 billion in 2007 – more than $750 for every U.S. traveler.
  • The total amount of wasted fuel topped 2.8 billion gallons – three weeks’ worth of gas for every traveler.
  • The amount of wasted time totaled 4.2 billion hours – nearly one full work week (or vacation week) for every traveler.

Reading these numbers makes you think, right?! Are your drivers spending so much time on the roads? Do your sales representatives waste too much “Windshield” time? Are you experiencing too much ware and tare? Does it really have to be like this?

A simple Route Planner can make these numbers look better, with your help of course. How?
By doing a simple thing – optimizing your time and distance on the road.
How we do that is not so simple, but the results are absolutely amazing.
Individuals, as well businesses that have multi destination routes, whether for deliveries, pickups, service, sales rep. etc. – all have the same problem. Just like you, they are all looking to reduce cost and increase efficiency in multi route operations.
